Wildlife artist Frances McMahon is delighted to announce that her painting of a Black Duck ("Splash") has made the front cover of the latest issue of "Creative Artist" magazine!
Her work is also featured inside the magazine, with 10 pages of her work, which includes a "step by step" demonstration of her latest commission.

The latest issue of "Artist's Palette" magazine features a 6 page editorial of the bird illustrations of Frances McMahon.
It's out now (Issue 128, November 2013) in newsagents throughout Australia.

Taking some 8 years and 70 hours' work to finish, Frances McMahon is thrilled to be finally finished!
Now available as stunning digital prints though her FAA website.

The original painting has been submitted in the 2013 "Birds in Art" exhibition in Wisconsin, USA.
"Birds in Art" showcases the very best bird artists in the world, and only about 100 entries are selected out of thousands.

Here's hoping the judges like what they see!

New Painting From Frances McMahon

It's taken some 136 hours to complete, but here it is at last!
"The Happy Couple" (Eastern Rosellas) was a private commission.
Frances specialises in watercolour illustrations featuring Australian native birds,
and has been painting since the age of five.

I've uploaded a YouTube video of this painting, showing how I construct paintings.

Artwork Voted 2nd Place In FAA Contest

Frances is delighted to announce that her painting of four gouldian Finches ("Three Guys for Every Girl") was voted 2ND PLACE in the recent Fine Art America contest titled: Birds of a Feather Flock Together.

Frances has been painting since the age of 5, and is entirely self-taught.

346 pieces of artwork were submitted for on-line voting by members of Fine Art America and visitors.

Frances wishes to thank those who voted for her work. There were many high quality artworks submitted, and she feels it's a great honour from her peers and members of the public who voted. Thank you!
